Hands up ... who can believe it's November?
Now that the clocks have gone back one hour, it doesn't come light here until 7am and it is dark again by 4.30pm. Trying to be positive, though, aren't dark, chilly nights just perfect for getting busy being creative and crafty?

Now on to business ... it's time for a new challenge at Gecko Galz
This month our customer challenge theme is Santa Clause Lane - a great excuse to make a few greetings cards for friends and family! Christmas is just around the corner now!

I made a couple of nostalgic cards. All of the paper products, except for some coloured card, are from Gecko Galz.

Card #1 Santa's Car

The image is from St Nicholas digital collage sheet - I simply printed it, cut it out and used it as a card topper. I distressed the edges with scissors, then inked them with my favourite Vintage Photo ink. I matted the image onto gold card and distressed the edges, as before.  The music sheet is from Christmas Carols collage sheet. Again this was inked and matted onto gold card. Both of these mats were popped on foam pads onto of the background made from the Merry and Bright paper pack. I added two thin strips of gold trim along the left edge and made a poinsettia (from the music sheet) which I edged with red pigment ink and added Prills to the centre. I die cut a sentiment in red and gold card to finish off the card.

Card #2 Santa's Tree

The image for this card is from Christmas Dreams Digi Kit. I added some crystal Stickles to the snow on the tree. The edges of the image were distressed and it was matted onto green card. The background paper is from the Merry and Bright paper pack - again this was distressed and inked. Green satin ribbon and ivory lace was attached along the bottom section of the paper and then it was matted onto distressed green card. Some pearl trim was added, along with some vintage style Alpha stickers to spell the word 'Joy'. The image was popped on foam pads. A cream poinsettia was made - it's edges were inked with red and Prills were added for the centre. Some die cut pine leaves were arranged along with the poinsettia.
